Privacy policy

Last updated 10 September 2026. Applies to the Glitch Wars browser game at this site, the Glitch Wars Windows app, and any store edition of the game published by Beckham Enterprises.

Glitch Wars is a single-player game. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no in-app purchases and no analytics. The short version: nothing about you leaves your device unless you press the bug-report key, and you see exactly what is in that report before you send it.

Game saves stay on your device

The game keeps its saves in your browser's local storage, or in the Windows app's per-user data folder (%APPDATA%\glitch-wars). This includes campaign progress and checkpoints, the last ship design and colour you picked, volume and mute settings, graphics quality, and whether you have chosen to see tutorials. None of it is transmitted, synced, or backed up by us. Clearing your browser's site data, or uninstalling the app and deleting that folder, removes it completely. Uninstalling the Windows app on its own keeps your saves so a reinstall picks up where you left off.

Bug reports

Pressing Ctrl+B opens a report form. Nothing is sent until you press Send. A report contains:

Reports do not include your name, email, IP address as a stored field, or anything outside the game. They are stored in a private Cloudflare Workers KV namespace, read only by the developer, and used solely to reproduce and fix the problem. They are deleted once the issue is resolved, and in any case within 12 months. Our bug-report endpoint is rate-limited per network address to prevent abuse; that address is used for the limit only and is not written into the report.

Windows app updates

About twenty seconds after launch, the Windows app requests a small version file from a Cloudflare-hosted bucket. If a newer version exists, it downloads that update in the background and installs it on the next launch after verifying its checksum. That request carries no identifier, account, or game data. As with any web request, Cloudflare sees the requesting IP address and may keep it in its own operational logs under its privacy policy. The browser edition does not check for updates.

This website

The site is static and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts, fonts, or trackers. Cloudflare keeps ordinary server logs (IP address, requested page, browser type) for security and operations. The download button reads the same public version file described above to show the current installer version.

Children

Glitch Wars is a shooting game with stylised, non-graphic sci-fi violence. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Bug reports are the only submission path, and they are free-text. If you believe a child has sent us personal information in a report, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

Store editions

If you obtained Glitch Wars through an app store (Microsoft Store, Steam, Google Play, or the App Store), that store handles purchases, installs, and its own updates under its own privacy terms. The game itself behaves as described here. Store editions never use the app's built-in updater.

Changes

If we change what the game collects, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change ships. Material changes will also be noted in the game's release notes.
